Acceptable use and anti-abuse
Contact sources, authority to send, objections, prohibited content and handling of reports.
Sender identity and authority
Use domains and identities you are authorised to represent. Do not mislead recipients about the sender, purpose, reply address or link destination. DNS verification and API access are not permission to impersonate another person.
Contact sources and authority to contact them
Keep information supporting collection, purpose and authority to contact each recipient. Obtain necessary consent for consumer marketing; exceptions and professional marketing have their own conditions. A public address, purchased file or former “not blocked” field alone does not prove valid permission.
Do not reconstruct permission merely from having an address. Do not present an import or provider migration as a new recipient request. Accepting account terms never replaces recipient rights.
Objections, unsubscribe and purposes
Respect choices applying to future processing and existing protections. Provide a simple objection mechanism for marketing. Do not bypass an unsubscribe, block, complaint or restriction by changing workspace, domain, source, category or key.
Use transactional messages for the function actually requested. Adding promotion can change a communication’s nature; labelling it “transactional” does not remove the need to assess applicable rules.
Prohibited uses
- Spam, phishing, malware, fraud, unlawful content or infringement of individual rights.
- Unauthorised collection or use, fabricated consent, falsified evidence and concealed sender identity.
- Bypassing limits, checks, stops, protections or provider rules, including multiplying keys or workspaces for that purpose.
- Accessing another party’s data, unauthorised sharing of secrets, intrusive testing without agreement or attempts to tamper with the service.
Limits, reports and review
Rate limits, quotas and anti-spam checks must not be disabled to force acceptance. An uncertain result remains subject to review, without blind retry. Mailie may restrict or suspend the affected scope to address a risk, retain necessary evidence and request proportionate supporting information.
To report abuse, provide the company contact with information needed to identify the message or operation, without passwords, keys or unnecessary data. Affected people can request review; reviewing a report is not proof of wrongdoing and does not promise message delivery.
