READING TRACKING
What Mailie chooses to exclude.
The foundation is designed without opening pixels, individual click tracking, location inferred from reading or engagement scores based on those signals. Segments and automations must not rely on a “did not open” condition.
Statistics concern operational facts: a prepared message, transport acceptance, a reported error or a known complaint. Acceptance is not proof of reading, and a missing report does not become a fabricated zero for opens.
Direct links and email images can still cause network requests. An asset host or destination website may keep technical logs; no opening pixel does not mean no network information at all.
WHAT SENDING NEEDS
Address, content and declared choices.
Sending an email requires a destination address, a sender and content. The organisation may also use information a person has provided, chosen topics, language and authorised business events.
Organised contacts
Lists, tags and preferences help select relevant content. They must not recreate a hidden reading profile.
Protected refusals
Unsubscribe and exclusion choices take precedence over imports and segments. The intended final check occurs immediately before submission.
THE RECIPIENT’S PLACE
Preserving choices over time.
The sending organisation’s unsubscribe link and preference options are the first way to adjust the messages you receive. A billing suspension must not prevent those actions.
Minimal suppression information may need to be retained so that another import does not subscribe the person again. Deleting a contact record and authorising marketing again are separate decisions.
For a request about your data, identify the organisation responsible for the audience in the received message and address your request to it. Retention periods, exceptions and procedures must be defined by the applicable documents and process, not inferred from this educational page.
RESPONSIBILITIES TO DEFINE
The organisation’s role and Mailie’s role.
The sending organisation chooses the purpose, contact provenance and facts it publishes. Mailie provides controls to respect those choices and suppression rules.
The project’s technical register still identifies retention periods and flows requiring qualification, including hosting logs, backups and provider processing. Choosing OVH infrastructure does not prove that every email route or processing operation stays in France.
