OUR COMMITMENT
Connection means more when we care about how we create it. Mailie is taking shape in France, with attention to people and the world around us.
Explore our values A clear direction. Thoughtful choices. Transparency.
FOR IDEAS WORTH TAKING CARE OF.Care.
In every
detail.
An email is never just a message.
It carries a little of your time, your trust
and the world we share.
French roots.
An open horizon.
WHERE WE COME FROM. HOW WE WORK.
Mailie is a project conceived and designed in France. Our ambition is to make email easier to use, with a clear product, a human voice and care for everyday needs.
Clear about our origins.“Made in France” describes where the project is designed. Providers and processing locations will be documented separately; this statement does not promise that every part of the data journey stays in France.
PRIVACY, AS A PRINCIPLE
Respect for recipients is a design choice.
Across every plan, without an option to switch on.
We want to help you understand your sending without observing personal reading habits. Mailie’s specification excludes opening pixels, individual click tracking and reading profiles.
Opening a message should not be used to piece together your schedule, location or habits. The preferences you share matter more than behaviour observed without your knowledge.
An address, permissions and a delivery status.
Respecting privacy does not mean processing no data at all. Sending, security and operation require limited information. External websites linked from an email also have their own practices.
TRUST LIVES IN THE DETAILS
Planned journeys that make preferences
and responsibilities clear.
Clear forms, recognisable topics and subscription confirmation are planned by default.
Accessible preferences and unsubscribes that take priority. An import must never resubscribe someone who opted out.
Permissions, exports and retention rules must be implemented and verified before the service opens.
AI UNDER YOUR CONTROL
In the planned application, the assistant’s context is limited to authorised content and brand guidelines. The contact database and secrets stay outside its scope. Suggestions remain editable, sending requires approval, and essential tasks are possible without AI.
AN APPROACH THAT STARTS WITH FACTS
A digital service uses resources. Our commitment is to understand Mailie’s emissions, seek ways to reduce them and document any climate contributions.
Method and data in preparationBuild a documented picture before announcing a result. We will distinguish the scope of the company from that of the service to avoid counting the same sources twice.
No quantified report published at this stage.
Intentions will be distinguished from completed actions.
We claim neither “zero emissions”, achieved carbon neutrality nor environmental certification.
LESS EXCESS. MORE PURPOSE.
Four areas in our product specification,
with effects that still need to be measured.
Limit email size, optimise images and reuse resources instead of multiplying copies.
Prioritise preferences and real needs, without increasing volumes to make a metric look better.
Define useful retention periods, plan deletion and keep processing proportionate to the task.
Reduce context, choose suitable uses and avoid unnecessary automatic image generation.
Contributions do not make emissions disappear. Any funded actions will be presented separately from the gross footprint, with evidence and their status. A promise of funding will not be presented as a completed action.
YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW
What you can see today, what we are preparing and what still needs evidence.
No audience analytics or advertising module is integrated into the current pages. Technical logs needed to operate the website are a separate matter.
Pages load their images and font from the website itself, without requesting these resources from a third-party service.
No opening pixels, individual click tracking or reading profiles: these are design requirements for the future application.
Clear forms, confirmed subscriptions, accessible unsubscribe options and permission checks are planned before sending opens.
Providers, regions, data flows and contractual documents must be specified before the service opens.
Scope, period, sources, included categories and uncertainties still need to be established. No quantified emissions report is published at this stage.
Media size, reuse, retention periods and proportionate use of AI are included in the product specification.
No evidence of a completed contribution is published here. Any future contribution must identify the organisation, date, amount and actual status.
SIMPLY EXPLAINED
Words matter.
Here is what we mean by ours.
It describes the origin and design of the project: Mailie is conceived and designed in France. It is not a certification and does not mean that all providers, processing or email routes will be located exclusively in France. Their scope must be described separately.
The current website has no integrated marketing tracking tools and serves its images and font locally. For the email application, the commitments described are design requirements to implement and verify before sending opens. Demonstrations use fictional content.
No. Delivering an email requires an address, permissions and delivery information. Some technical or security logs may also be needed. The aim is to limit processing to its purpose, without monitoring individual opens or clicks to build a reading profile.
Volumes accepted by the sending service, delivery events, errors, bounces, complaints and unsubscribes will provide operational information. Acceptance or a delivery event does not prove that an email reached the main inbox or was read. Mailie will not replace uncollected data with misleading zeros.
The product specification limits context to authorised elements such as brand guidelines and the content being edited. The contact database, secrets and sensitive information are not intended to be sent to a remote model. Suggestions must remain editable and sending must follow the required authorisations. Essential tasks will remain available without AI.
No. We describe an approach to measurement, reduction and documentation, not an achieved state of carbon neutrality. This page claims no quantified footprint, climate certification or offsetting result. Contributions do not make the service’s emissions disappear.
A useful figure requires a scope, a method, a period and sources. Multiplying the number of emails or AI requests by an arbitrary constant is not enough. Unavailable data will be identified; any estimate must explain its assumptions and limits.
Future reports must specify the categories covered, exclusions, sources, uncertainties and review date. Observed reductions and any climate contributions will be documented separately. An intention to fund something will not be presented as a completed payment.
